Greencities is a forum dedicated to promote and develop Smart Cities. This year we are celebrating the tenth edition on March 27th and 28th.. The event will be held at the Trade Fairs and Congress Center of Malaga (FYCMA).
In 2018, the forum gathered more than 270 cities and almost 4.000 international professionals. This year the organization expects an increase of approximately 10%. During two days all agents involved will talk about the future, sharing ideas to develop smart territories, energy systems and urban mobility, among others issues.
A unique opportunity of networking with public administration professionals, architects, investigators, engineers, investors, new entrepreneurs and a long etc. in an environment that helps to inspire and build the cities of the future.
This year we will find some novelties on the forum. From one hand, the local and provincial administration working on areas of smart tourism, energy, mobility, environment, edification or technological solutions, will show their specific needs and requests to develop smart cities. This originally idea is a perfect scenario to get in front of investors and do business.
From the other hand, there is a new zone designed to startups called “Elevator Call for Startups” to share products, new ideas and success cases, this area will provide an extraordinary opportunity to networking and develop new projects.
Malaga Smart City
Malaga Smart City project started ten years ago, nowadays is one of the most consolidated initiative in Spain. The city has reduced the C02 emissions in a 20% and saved approximately a 25% of energy. Some key factors of this sustainable development: wind and solar streetlights systems, mobility initiatives as a bike sharing stations around the city or a fleet of rental electrical motorbikes are some examples.
Malaga continues working on solutions to make possible its Smart City, since 2017 “Malaga´s Digital Content Hub” (Polo Nacional de Contenidos Digitales) helps startups, entrepreneurs and investors to develop digital projects through coworking spaces, show rooms, laboratories and learning rooms, between others.
Even though Malaga has a good position as a Smart City in Europe, we are keen on hearing new initiatives and ideas from investors, entrepreneurs and businessmen. Events such as Greencities Forum help us to gather all elements needed to build the city of the future.
