MIPIM, (Marché International des Professionels de l’ Immobilier in French) is the international market for real estate professionals. This year has celebrated his 30-edition between 12 and 15th of March in Cannes. From the point of view of investors, it is the perfect place to achieve new business opportunities and share market trends.

The event gathered more than 25.000 professionals. Consultants, promoters, investors, lawyer offices, hotels, banks etc. met for four days, even though the most of expositors came from many countries and their cities.

Year by year, Spain has been consolidated in the fair. Malaga attract a great interest among investors, breaking the classic Spanish duality between Madrid and Barcelona. Malaga right now is the third biggest market in Spain. Therefore, the Andalusian city stands out in the Spanish pavilion, occupying 25 square meters, approximately one third of the total.

On behalf of the city were present, among others, the Mayor and the Territorial and Planning Housing councilor, who show the video “Malaga 2030, a vision of the future” sharing with the audience the several available projects to invest along the city.  They assured that MIPIM is the perfect scenario to show the city in front of the international investor community and the consolidated position in Spain, as well as the international context of Malaga.

During those days, they had more than 40 working meetings with financial consultants, architects, investors, institutional representatives etc.  Some of them expressed special interest to invest in productive land, residential and office towers.  But, fields to build student residences, spaces to develop retail business or cultural spaces as “La Térmica” are also attractive to investors.

Regarding financial models, during those meetings they talked about the public-private management, and mixed-use model for the development of different spaces.

In short, the fair was an excellent platform for networking and promote the city with a very successful result. Foreign investors are coming shortly to Malaga to see more details and finalize business agreements.
