Since the office investor, and the businessmen office had been created, Malaga has got a consolidated position in international enterprises based along the city. These services had helped to promote the international visibility of the city as well as to support all needs from the companies.
Nowadays we have 60 international enterprises installed in Malaga with more than 900 employees. According to experts expectations, in the short to medium term is estimated to create about 2.500 new more employments.
Regarding the economic activity of those enterprises, we find a 30% of them are dedicated to software development; a 10% works in customer service; also, a 10% is dedicate to consulting enterprises; a 7% to investments and a 5% to data analysis.
They are in several places; however, we have an important core business in The Andalusian Technological Park (PTA). The 30% of all companies are international brands and they generate a 40% of turnover. Thank you to these data, many people who emigrated to develop a career abroad, today they have the possibility to return to Malaga keeping their job.
Andrés Carrillo, telecom engineer finished his degree at the University of Malaga (UMA), he went to United Kingdom due to the impossibility to find a job in Spain. A few weeks later he started in Clearview, when the company decided to open a new office in Malaga he didn’t hesitate to come back home.
A similar experience had Manuel Fernández, he is economist, he started in Neueda Consulting in Ireland. The company decided to open borders and they created a new headquarter in Malaga, that is why Manuel had the opportunity to return. From the point of view of the Chief Operations Officer of Neueda: “Malaga provides us with another rich location to attract technical talent across Europe”, he explained.
Javier Serrano, computer engineer, with the economic crisis he moved abroad. He is part of Ciklum, a Danish company installed in Ukraine and, also, in the PTA with more than 200 employees. “They are based in Ukraine and they chose Malaga to open a new base because they knew it was an attractive place to attract talent from all over Europe. They even made a quality lifestyle study. Ciklum is growing up a lot, when I arrived, we were about 40 employees and nowadays we are over 200. Everyone loves Malaga, I have even helped some colleagues to find a new job in the PTA”, he said.
The ecosystem of companies in the PTA and their synergies, the University, the airport, the life style of the city and, of course, the good weather, convert Malaga in a unique place to invest and to create new bases of multinational companies.
